Candidate Filing Period to Start for November 2 Election
Candidates for the City of San Marcos City Council election on November 2 may begin picking up filing packets from the City Clerk’s office, with the filing period beginning July 25, 2010 through August 24, 2010.
A General Election will be held on November 2, 2010 to elect a Mayor for a term of two years and a City Council Member for Place 1 and a City Council Member for Place 2 with each Council Member position having a term of three years. The at-large seats are currently held by Susan Narvaiz (Mayor), Kim Porterfield (Place 1) and Gaylord Bose (Place 2).
Candidate filing packets may be picked up from the City Clerk’s office during regular office hours. Additional election information is available by calling the City Clerk, Sherry Mashburn, at 512-393-8089.
