Bose, 64, was elected to a 3 year term in Place 2 on the City Council
on May 15, 2004 and re-elected on Nov. 6, 2007 to a second 3 year term.
Born near Avoca, Nebraska in Cass County, Mr. Bose attended a one-room school house in his elementary years, graduating from Avoca High School in 1957. He was active in sports, 4-H, and other extra-curricular activities.
He enrolled in the college of agriculture at the University of Nebraska in 1958. In 1960 he started farming, raising livestock, growing grain, and running a trucking company that hauled livestock, grain and freight.
Mr. Bose married Suzanne Marie Ehlers on Dec. 11, 1960. They have four children, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The Boses were involved in many community activities for 20 years. He served on the school board, as a board member of the Weeping Water Co-op Association, secretary of the Volunteer Fire Department, president of the local sports program for young people, a 4-H Club leader, church council, Sunday school teacher, and member of the Cass County6 4-H Board.
In 1982 the Bose family moved to Waller Texas to work for the Star of Hope Rescue Mission, a substance abuse rehabilitation ranch of Houston, Texas. He attended the University of Houston where he studied in the chemical abuse counseling program and received a license as a License Chemical Dependency Counselor.
He joined the Wackenhut Corporation in 1989 and recently was promoted to the position of Center Director of Wackenhut’s Kyle facility. He is worked in the field of substance abuse counseling for 22 years.
The Boses moved to San Marcos 15 years ago and became members of the Greater Castle Forest Neighborhood Association, where he served as Vice-Chair and Chair. He also was appointed by the City Council to the Transportation Committee where he served for three years until his election to the City Council in May, 2004.
